KOTA KINABALU, SABAH – SK Nexilis “honors” Sabah by investing RM 2.3 billion as their first overseas production base for copper foil manufacturing.
The renowned South Korean company’s products are key components towards electric vehicles.
Sabah Industrial Development Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam said at least 400 jobs will be conducted.
“We believe that this venture is a leap forward for the innovation and development of our local industry, as well as opening the door to more business opportunities between Sabah and South Korea…
“On behalf of the State Government of Sabah, I would like to reassure SK Nexilis of our commitment to fully support and assist you in this venture.
“For this reason, we have assembled a Team to work with you so that the implementation of the project at Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) is smooth and efficient at all time,” he said.
Joachim said over a dinner on Saturday with the company delegation that the State Government had recently set up Invest Sabah Berhad launched in December 2020.
“Invest Sabah is a One-Stop Agency that gives consultative services for all Investment activities in Sabah and is tasked to monitor and coordinate all investment projects brought in to the state…
“In short, Invest Sabah provides advisory and consultant services to all potential investors, and relevant stakeholders.
“Most importantly, Invest Sabah is to promote the State of Sabah as a preferred place to invest especially in Malaysia and South East Asia,” he said.
He thanked the Federal Government, the various state and local agencies and authorities of Sabah for their assistance and support in making the investment of SK Nexilis in Sabah a reality.
