BEAUFORT, SABAH – A Kampung Kerukan man threatened to kill his 71-year-old grandmother with a machete after she denied him money yesterday.
Police say it is not the first lashing out of the 43-year-old who lived with the victim.
District police DSP Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said the man had also previously acted to slash the house walls and staircase when denied money.
“But this time during the 8 am incident he was screaming death threats which frightened his grandmother…
“The woman lodged a police report at the Kuala Penyu police station at noon yesterday,” he said when contacted.
Yusoff said a Beaufort Criminal Investigation Division team then arrested the man who is now being detained at the district station.
“Investigations are ongoing under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he added.
