Police Ends Single Woman’s Criminal Drug Career

KOTA KINABALU, SABAH – A single woman who turned to the life of drug dealing was arrested for the sixth time here at Taman Ridgeview in Kepayan Ridge on Monday (Feb 8).

Narcotics police found 113.67 grams of crystal meth (syabu) packed in 10 baggies worth at least RM 12,233 on her during the the 3.15pm incident.

City police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said the 40-year-old woman took to pushing as an easy source of income.

“Her modus operandi is a phone call from her supplier to pick up the drugs at a discreet location. A single drug deal would earn her about RM 300…

“Further probing led drug busters to an apartment at Tanjung Aru where 8.6 grams of the same drug were stashed behind a refrigerator.

“The suspect’s criminal history tells five counts of drug related crimes. A simple urine test came back positive for drug use,” Habibi said.

Also seized were two handphones where one of which police suspect is a burner used to keep in exclusive contact with her supplier.

According to Habibi the woman is remanded for eight days and investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act where if convicted the penalty is death.

“The case is also investigated under Section 39A(1) and 15(1)(A) of the same act,” he added.
