PUTATAN, SABAH – The gravity of the COVID-19 Delta virus infections has Kapitan Cina Chung Ming Kong urging Putatan residents to be extra vigilant.
He said the latest of the variants are highly infectious and indeed active in the Putatan area.
“Thus residents must strictly practice the standard operating procedures (SOP) and maintain a high will of fighting the pandemic…
“When you go to the store to buy things, observe social distancing and wear two layers of masks. If you go to dine-ins, do not loiter, leave immediately after you are done. Try to avoid unnecessary social activities,” Chung advised.
Chung, who is also the chairman of the SAPP Tanjung Aru branch, urged shop operators to help check and control the flow of customers into the store to avoid close contact among customers.
“I hope everyone will fight the epidemic together. Vaccination is top priority. The sooner Sabah gets herd immunity, the sooner it will be able to open up its economy and social activities,” he added.
