KOTA KINABALU, SABAH – Police arrested two sex workers who advertised their services on popular social media applications WeChat and MiChat here yesterday.
The duo, 22 and 28, were arrested by D7 Criminal Investigation Department police at 2.30pm.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said police swarmed a hotel located along Jalan Sulaman about 2.30pm.
“Three handphones believed to be used for advertising themselves were seized along with a used condom and two new ones…
“A hotel card and some cash were also taken for investigative purposes,” he said.
Both suspects are being held at the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters.
The case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code which penalty brings a maximum jail term of one year or a fine or both if convicted.
