PENAMPANG, SABAH – A tipsy couple were robbed of a handbag sobering up inside their car parked near the Putatan futsal center here yesterday.
The husband and wife in their 30s were on their way home when approached by two men on a motorcycle.
“The suspects smashed the car windows with a metal rod in the 1.30am incident,” said district police chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim.
“A scuffle followed with injuries to the husband’s head, and his wife on her forehead and knees, after being pulled out from the car…
“The two robbers fled at the presence of another car and the victims soon brought to Hospital Queen Elizabeth II (HQE II) via ambulance,” he said.
