BEAUFORT, SABAH – The father who allegedly tried to poison his five-year-old daughter with pesticide and proceeded to choke her gave himself up to police yesterday.
The 43-year-old showed up at the district police station about 9.40am yesterday upon committing the acts and fleeing into subsequent hiding last Sunday.
However, during interrogations district police chief DSP Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said the man denied poisoning his daughter.
“A remand order will be acquired from the Magistrates Court under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001…
“Earlier a 500ml bottle of mineral water and a bottle of ‘Zagro Pounce 410’ brand weed killer was taken to aid investigation,” he said.
