RANAU, SABAH – Police here are hunting down the killer of a Filipino labour worker whose body was dumped in a field near the town market.
District police chief, DSP Simiun Lomudin said blunt force trauma was evident on the victim in his 30s.
“He is believed to have been killed around the times of 11.30 am to 1 pm yesterday…
“It is highly possible the man’s murder is linked to jealousy surrounding a woman,” he added.
The victim’s family members meanwhile say he had earlier set out to meet the woman.
Police believe a fight had first broke out leading to the killing.
“We have identified the suspect, also a foreigner, but has fled,” Simiun said.
