BEAUFORT, SABAH – A Kampung Membakut man acted to slap his wife and infant son in a fit of rage after awoken by the boy’s cries.
The incident yesterday escalated to where the 27-year-old suspect threatened to kill and hang his wife on display.
The 23-year-old woman meanwhile sought treatment at the Hospital after lodging a police report.
District police chief DSP Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said preliminary investigations revealed the man had first slapped his crying son.
“Then his wife scolded him for his violence before she ended up being slapped…
“She sustained injuries to her cheek,” he said.
Police are tracking down the suspect who fled home shortly after the 3pm incident.
“The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 for criminal intimidation,” added Yusoff.
