BEAUFORT, SABAH – A jealous 60-year-old punched his wife and threatened to kill her with a machete at their Kampung Siaun home in Menumbok here last Thursday.
District police chief, DSP Yussof Zaki Mat Yaacob said the 48-year-old victim had to call an ambulance following injuries sustained in the 7pm attack.
“The husband was enraged after believing she was having an affair with another man…
“The victim lodged a police report at the station here saying the injuries sustained to her left torso was immobilizing,” Yussof said.
Preliminary investigations revelaed the suspect had put the machete to his wife’s throat.
Yussof said according to the victim, this was not the man’s first act of violence towards her.
“A full statement will be taken after she is released from the Beaufort Hospital,” he added.
In the meantime the investigation leans towards a case of domestic violence.
