SEMPORNA, SABAH – A man found an intact newborn on the ground at an oil palm plantation here in Kampung Lahat Lahat near Jalan Tanjung Kapor yesterday.
The villager found the boy swaddled in cloth at about 11 am. Police believe he was born no less than 24 hours before.
Semporna Police Chief, Supt Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said on-scene police noticed the umbilical cord still attached.
“The baby was brought to the Hospital for treatment and subsequent care of the Welfare Department…
“He weighs 2.85 kilograms, declared healthy and is now placed at the children’s ward,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile investigations continue to track down his parents.
