KOTA KINABALU, SABAH – Planning of hiking Mount Kinabalu? Our next slot may soon be booked online directly through Sabah Parks (TTS) without having to go through agents as previously practiced.
The online application system said Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Datuk Jafry Ariffin, would enable hikers to make direct bookings and subsequent payments for the required permits.
“I hope the system better facilitates hikers planning to climb Mount Kinabalu and provide fair opportunities for thrill seekers to climb Malaysia’s highest mountain…
“The booking system is developed by a local company entrusted by TTS aimed at improving its services to increase visitors.
“In the future, online bookings would be required before entering areas under TTS,” he said at TTS appreciation ceremony at Sabah International Convention Center here today.
Meanwhile he said two local tourism companies have been allowed to conduct tourism activities under the travel bubble initiative.
