BEAUFORT, SABAH – The district’s Bersatu youth wing (ARMADA) welcomes the state government’s efforts to implement the two week total lockdown beginning June 1.
The full closure of social and economic sectors during the first phase is seen as a necessary act to curb the increasing COVID-19 cases in the state and country altogether.
Beaufort Bersatu youth chief Mohd Shahril Osin said although the resolution is difficult and unpopular, it may be the only way to fight ballooning infection rates.
“Every decision made by the government has been put under careful consideration and not for fun…
“Cases in this country have increased significantly, and if the government does not take appropriate action, I am afraid we will meet the same fate as India,” he said.
Shahril also suggested that the government find a mechanism to help the people, especially the B40 group who will be most economically affected.
