BEAUFORT, SABAH – A civil servant was arrested after vandalising Kuala Penyu District Council public properties here yesterday.
Police say the 50 year old acted to smash flower pots and ruin landscaping with a metal rod and stick during the 9.30am incident.
Beaufort’s police chief, DSP Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob said the man’s brother had alerted authorities of his actions.

“He is believed to be under the influence of syabu and was subsequently tested for drugs,” Yusoff said.
He said the arrest was made under Section 23 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
